Banker’s Training Programme

  • In response to the limited clarity among banks and financial institutions worldwide regarding solar power asset financing, cost-benefit analysis, project preparation, and risk guarantee mechanisms, the ISA is addressing this challenge through comprehensive capacity building programmes.

  • These programmes, conducted through training sessions, seminars, and workshops, aim to debunk exaggerated risk perceptions. Collaborating with esteemed partners such as the National Institute of Solar Energy (India), Skill Council for Green Jobs, IREDA, the State Bank of India, and others, the ISA has developed curriculum, best practices manuals, and case studies aligned with global standards.

  • The Banking Solar Initiative focuses on equipping banking professionals with the expertise to assess the techno-commercial feasibility and financial viability of solar PV systems, fostering a strategic approach to support sustainable energy initiatives.

Trainings Under
STAR-C Programme

Recognizing the urgent need for solar energy deployment in ISA Member Countries, the ISA Assembly established the Solar Technology Application Resource Centres (STAR-C) Programme. Designed to support countries with high solar potential, this initiative offers three-day training curricula on designing and delivering government-led development schemes. With 477 participants trained to date, the STAR-C Programme bridges the gap between long-term energy goals and rural development schemes, addressing challenges faced by rural areas.

Technical Trainings

The ISA conducts online technical training sessions under a range of programmes. One noteworthy initiative, the Scaling Solar Application for Agricultural Use Programme, emphasizes the sustainable use of solar energy for off-grid purposes like irrigation systems and home/street lighting. As of August 2023, this programme has significantly impacted 466 individuals, prioritizing applications capable of efficiently operating on stored solar energy.

Simultaneously, the Scaling Solar Mini-Grids programme focuses on Member Countries with limited connectivity, aiming to boost solar energy capacity while enhancing accessibility and reducing electricity costs. To date, 479 participants have undergone training, reinforcing the programme's role in advancing solar energy development in regions facing connectivity challenges.

  • The Solar Parks-6 Programme focuses on establishing large-scale solar power generation zones, encompassing ground-mounted and floating solar projects in Member Countries. With 461 participants trained, the Solar Parks programme plays a crucial role in strengthening the growth of solar energy infrastructure, aligning with the organization's

  • commitment to sustainable and widespread adoption of solar energy. Through online training to build capacities for its various programmes and initiatives, the ISA demonstrates a comprehensive approach to bridge the skill gap and solar energy application and infrastructure development.
