The Seventh Meeting of the Regional Committee for Europe and Others Region of the International Solar Alliance was convened at a defining moment for the global energy transition and for strengthening cooperation under the ISA Framework Agreement. The Meeting provided an important opportunity to consolidate the Region’s engagement with the Alliance and brought together like-minded partners around a practical, delivery-oriented solar agenda.
The global energy landscape has undergone a decisive transformation, placing energy security back at the centre of national priorities. Ongoing volatility in global oil and gas markets, geopolitical uncertainties, fragile supply chains, rising electricity demand, and the accelerating impacts of climate change have collectively underscored the urgent need for cleaner, more resilient, and secure energy systems. At the same time, the energy transition is no longer focused solely on expanding generation capacity. The next phase will be defined by large-scale electrification, rapid solar deployment, advanced energy storage, smarter and digitally enabled grids, diversified supply chains, and the mobilisation of affordable finance to support developing economies in building sustainable energy futures.
