Our Approach

Beyond Solar Deployment

Our approach involves supporting Member Countries in establishing eco-design rules, green procurement regulations, and monitoring systems. Additionally, we develop frameworks for waste collection and recycling and identify partners and business models to facilitate these processes. Moreover, we focus on identifying a pipeline of projects and corresponding business models to advance our goals further.

Currently, we are actively working on the following initiatives: developing a copper strategy specifically tailored for the South Asian region and creating standard methodology and guidelines for the recycling of solar batteries. These projects aim to address key regional needs and advance sustainability efforts within the industry.

Impact, Outcomes & Success Stories

Impact, Outcomes & Success Stories

Several initiatives are currently underway, including developing a copper strategy tailored for South Asia and formulating standard methodologies and guidelines for recycling solar batteries. Additionally, numerous collaborative efforts with Member Countries are in progress, aimed at achieving various goals and objectives.

Training, Capacity Building and Knowledge Sharing

ISA conducted a comprehensive study under the ISA-UNEP project focusing on the Global Solar and Battery Waste Recycling Landscape. Additionally, in CY23, the ISA organized a consultation with the Corporate Advisory Group specifically addressing Solar PV Recycling. To facilitate this, the ISA secretariat distributed a survey among relevant stakeholders to gather their insights. This survey is accessible on the ISA website, ensuring transparency and broad participation in shaping initiatives related to solar energy recycling.
