Country-wise Representation of Winners

ISA extended its global push for solar innovation to Latin America and the Caribbean with the launch of the SolarX Startup Challenge: LAC Edition at COP29 in Baku. This edition was built on the strong platform created by earlier rounds in Africa and the Asia-Pacific, including India, which together supported 50 startups through financial assistance and a dedicated acceleration programme.

The LAC edition represented a major deepening of ISA’s engagement in the region. Designed to surface scalable, cost-effective, and high-impact solar innovations aligned with local priorities, the Challenge drew an impressive response—113 applications from 29 countries.

Ten winners were announced at COP30, recognised for their potential to deliver meaningful, real-world impact and for advancing technology that can accelerate solar adoption across the region.

Each winning startup will receive financial support and tailored acceleration assistance. Through ISA and its partners, they will gain access to mentors, investors, and market-entry pathways designed to help them scale their solutions and deepen their impact across Latin America and the Caribbean.
